These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the Chrome extension “BlurMark” (the “Extension”) provided by Daisuke Takayama (webcyou, “we”).
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If there is any difference between this version and the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Scope
These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Extension (“you”). The Extension is distributed free of charge through the Chrome Web Store.
2. What masks do
The Extension’s masks only change how a web page looks. The original content stays in the page and can be read from the page source, developer tools and similar means. The Extension is not intended to protect or erase passwords or other secrets.
Masks may also not be displayed in the following cases:
- Right after a page opens, before the masks are applied
- When a site changes its page structure
- Shadow DOM contents, canvas, PDFs and iframes
Before sharing your screen or taking a screenshot, please check what is shown yourself.
3. Effects on websites
To hide text, the Extension rewrites part of the page structure. On some sites, this may cause display problems or errors on the site. If that happens, remove the mask or reload the page.
4. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Violate any law or public order and morals
- Infringe the rights of third parties
- Modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the Extension, except as permitted by law
5. Intellectual property
The copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Extension belong to us or to their rightful owners.
6. Disclaimer
We do not guarantee that the Extension works correctly on every web page, or that the Extension is free of defects. We are not liable for any damage you suffer from using the Extension (including damage caused by information you meant to hide being shown), except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.
7. Changes to or discontinuation of the Extension
We may change the contents of the Extension or stop providing it.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms as necessary. The revised Terms take effect when they are posted on this page.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the Extension shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over our location as the court of first instance.
